Understanding Gameweeks

The pulse of Dream Team’s season fantasy game is dictated by Gameweeks, each serving as a distinct scoring period. As the new Premier League season approaches, it’s crucial to have your team primed and ready before the deadline, which is usually set 90 minutes before the kickoff of the first game. Take note, the inaugural deadline for the 2024/25 season is at 8pm on August 16th, coinciding with the Manchester United v Fulham match.

Each Gameweek requires you to finalize your transfers, captain choices, and any Boosters you’re planning to use. Remember, any tweaks made post-deadline will only take effect in the next Gameweek. With the ebb and flow of the season, some teams will have a busier schedule than others at times, offering strategic opportunities to maximize points during double Gameweeks.

Strategic Transfer Moves

Once the season kicks off, the art of transfers becomes pivotal. Whether you’re offloading sidelined players or swapping out underachievers for rising stars, transfers are essential to maintain your team’s competitiveness. Before the season’s first whistle, feel free to experiment with unlimited transfers. However, once underway, you’ll be allocated two transfers per Gameweek, with the option to rollover unused transfers, up to a maximum of four.

It’s worth noting that the rollover mechanism only works if no transfers are made in a Gameweek. For instance, if you have two transfers and use one, you won’t accumulate three for the next Gameweek—you’ll have two. And if you change your mind about a transfer, you can reverse it anytime before the deadline.

We’ll provide weekly transfer recommendations, plus tips and stats to help shape your strategy. For an in-depth look at Gameweeks and transfers, make sure to review the Game Rules.
