Arsenal fans in the morning
The Gunners are still set to move for Declan Rice AND Moises Caicedo in the summer, despite the surprise arrival of Jorginho.
Chelsea’s Italian star Jorginho, 31, was boss Mikel Arteta’s £12m deadline day answer to his need for midfield cover.
Brighton followed for £75m for Ecuador centre-back Caicedo.
But West Ham and England hero Rice, 24, remains Arsenal’s top long-term target.
And it is also claimed that Arteta is ready to move up again for Caicedo at the end of the season.
Crystal Palace have signed Albert Sambi Lokonga on loan until the summer.
This is partly because the signing of Jorginho relegates the Belgian from being the first-choice replacement to the Gunners’ key pairing of Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka.
Any hopes Arsenal had of landing Real Valladolid right-back Ivan Fresneda, 18, vanished in the final hours of deadline day.
But it will not be a surprise if Arsenal return to replace the Spaniard, who has also been linked with Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, at the end of the season.
Finally, there is talk again of Manchester City who made a summer move for English winger Bukayo Saka.
Before that, however, the 21-year-old is expected to sign a new contract with Arsenal.
