Jack Grealish has been urged to quit Aston Villa by Noel Whelan if he is to have any hope of reaching his potential.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider deputy editor Russell Edge, the former Leeds man feels Grealish is now ready to make the step up to a top 4 club.
Villa are preparing to offer their talismanic captain a new bumper £100,000-a-week contract in an attempt to secure his services, according to the Sun.
The 24-year-old is said to be attracting interest from Manchester United.
Asked whether Grealish is likely to commit to a new deal Whelan told Football Insider: “The fact they’ve stayed in the Premier League means they hold a bit more weight for Grealish to stay but it depends what he wants for himself.
“Does he want another challenge where he can go to a big club, one of the top four where he’s going to be playing in the Champions League.
