German Giants Target Toffees Midfielder

Bayern Munich has shown a strong interest in Everton’s Amadou Onana, with the Bavarian club’s new manager, Vincent Kompany, eager to bring the Belgian midfielder to the Allianz Arena. Kompany, looking to make his mark on the team, sees the 22-year-old Onana as a key piece in his squad-building plans.

Everton’s Financial Balancing Act

While Everton is open to the idea of selling Onana, they are not looking to let him go for a bargain. The Premier League club is aiming for a substantial return on their investment, having signed Onana from Lille for £30 million two years prior. The sale is part of a broader strategy to balance the books and comply with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules.

Onana’s Uncertain Goodison Park Future

Everton manager Sean Dyche, who left Onana out of the squad for the final games of the last season, may prefer to sell Onana over other assets like Manchester United target Jarrad Branthwaite. This follows after the Toffees managed to secure their Premier League status in what was termed another ‘great escape’.

Reinforcements Arriving at Goodison Park

To fill the potential void left by Onana’s departure, Everton is set to welcome Iliman Ndiaye. The 24-year-old attacking midfielder from Marseille is expected to join for £15.3 million, having already agreed on personal terms. Ndiaye will be Dyche’s third acquisition of the summer, following Tim Iroegbunam from Aston Villa for £9 million and Jack Harrison, who is set for a second loan spell from Leeds.

Veterans Commit to Everton’s Cause

Everton has also secured the services of Ashley Young for another year, with the 38-year-old signing a 12-month contract extension alongside 35-year-old Seamus Coleman. Young praised the team spirit at Goodison Park, comparing it favorably with the best dressing rooms he has been part of during his career.

Bayern’s Transfer Ambitions Beyond Onana

Bayern Munich, meanwhile, is not resting on its laurels, as the German champions are close to finalizing a £55 million deal for Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise. Bayern has reportedly outmaneuvered both Chelsea and Manchester United in the race for the talented winger’s signature.
