Alan Hutton admits Albian Ajeti could cost Celtic “a lot of money” if they are to buy him from West Ham.
The former Rangers and Scotland defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, insists that the Switzerland international could be a good addition to the squad if he can hit the ground running.
As revealed by Football Insider, Celtic have agreed a £5.5million purchase clause as they close in on a loan-to-buy deal to sign the 23-year-old from West Ham.
Ajeti joined the Irons for £8.5million last summer but has struggled to make any sort of an impact in east London.
Hutton admits that the seven-figure fee is a hefty price but that Ajeti would help bolster an already impressive front line.
Hutton told Football Insider: “It’s a lot of money, it is a lot of money – £8million the previous year and then £5.5million possibly next year.
