Celtic said they should be worried about the Rangers move
Celtic have already started making their moves for January. The deal for Yuki Kobayashi is already over the line and while he may not be able to play for the club until next year, he is now free to start training with his new team-mates. Meanwhile, a deal to sign Alistair Johnston from CF Montreal is also expected to go through now that Canada’s World Cup campaign has come to an end.
It must be said that Celtic are already in a great position and do not need to make many additions to their squad. But at the same time, there are rumors that Josip Juranovic and Giorgos Giakoumakis could leave the club in January after failing to agree new deals.
So maybe the Hoops could do with some reinforcements and it might not be a bad idea to bring a Manchester City wonderkid on loan until the end of the season.
Cole Palmer was incredible for Manchester City as he came through the youth ranks. The attacking midfielder’s record for the Ciutadans U-18 and U-21 team is strong. However, he is not getting enough game time at senior level and could perhaps be helped with a loan move to gain some experience in the senior game.
Celtic are set to sign Manchester City’s super talent on loan in January
According to Transfermarkt statistics, Palmer has played 12 games and played just 325 minutes of football for Manchester City this season.
Only 99 of those minutes have come in the Premier League. This continues to show that he could perhaps get some senior experience elsewhere before making the jump to the Manchester City first team.
Celtic and Manchester City have a history of getting deals done. A loan move for Palmer could therefore be a possibility if pressed by the Hoops.
