HAKIM ZIYECH bowed out of Ajax off the field with the same show of class Chelsea are convinced he will parade on it.
The £37million winger left two of his old club’s star-struck kids beaming as he handed them Ajax kit and gave fist-bumps.
Attacking midfielder Hakim Ziyech bowed out of Ajax in style – with a great gesture for two Ajax kids
Morocco superstar Hakim Ziyech departs Ajax on the best of terms
The Ajax career of Hakim Ziyech ended earlier than expected as coronavirus put paid to the Dutch top-flight finale
And when one of the lads got just a little too enthusiastic – breaking social-distance rules to hug him – Ziyech dealt with the situation smoothly.
The Morocco maestro, 27, then smiled and gave a Peace sign as he walked off.
Ajax team-mate Quincy Promes filmed the scene, putting it on his Instagram story before the Dutch giants tweeted it with the caption: “Golden feet, golden heart.”
Ziyech‘s switch to Stamford Bridge – agreed in February – comes after Manchester United withdrew their interest and the Dutch season was finished early by the coronavirus pandemic.
And although he has been urged to toughen up for the Premier League, he bowed out of Holland by showing his gentle side.
The two proud kids were enthralled by his top gesture as he departed Ajax’s training base.
Watching Holland striker Promes, 27, will be one of the men to suffer most from Chelsea‘s gain.
Ziyech has been one of the Dutch top-flight’s top makers of goals in the past few yeas, as well as netting 49 times himself in 165 games for Ajax.
Former Ajax and Manchester United boss Louis Van Gaal rates Ziyech a “special player” sure to shine in England.
LVG said: “He has developed tremendously at Ajax. Not so much in creativity, but as a team player.
“The public has come to realise that he works very hard for a creative player. And then he also scores goals and gives assists.
“That makes you a special player.”
But some observers, like Ziyech’s ex-Ajax tam-mate Anwar El Ghazi, believe he might have to beef up for the Prem.
Aston Villa’s Holland widemanr El Ghazi, 25, told Voetbal Primeur: “I thought I was big and heavy, but sometimes you run into player and you think, is that a wall?
“But Ziyech is going to do well at Chelsea, 100 per cent.”
