Chelsea’s amazing XI with Havertz, Werner, Ziyech, Rice, Oblak and Chilwell if Lampard lands transfer targets

THIS could be how Chelsea line up next season if Frank Lampard lands all of his transfer targets.

The ambitious Blues boss is determined to close the gap to Liverpool and Manchester City as he aims for a third-place finish and glory in the FA Cup this season.

And that means there is likely to be a lot of change at Super Frank’s Stamford Bridge.

Pedro is heading off to Roma on a free transfer, with Willian likely to follow him out of the door after failing to agree a new contract.

Left-backs Emerson and Marcos Alonso are up for sale, while Lampard will listen to offers for Kurt Zouma and Andreas Christensen.

There are also serious doubts over Ross Barkley, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Michy Batshuayi and Jorginho’s futures next month.

And Chelsea have already signalled their intent to build a star-studded squad by completing deals for Ajax playmaker Hakim Ziyech and RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.

Bayer Leverkusen forward Kai Havertz looks set to become the next big name arriving in west London.

And there could yet be more arrivals.

A new left-back is needed, with Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell the preferred candidate despite a reported £90million price-tag.

Frank Lampard has big plans for Chelsea this summer

Lampard would also like to bring Declan Rice back home from West Ham, but he too could cost a small fortune.

Finally, a new goalkeeper is needed to replace club-record signing Kepa.

Manchester United are reluctant to give up Dean Henderson to a rival, and it is believed Chelsea are instead targeting Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak – widely regarded to be the best shot-stopper in world football.

With his new signings on board, Lampard would likely field a 4-3-3 formation with N’Golo Kante holding.

Mason Mount and Havertz would be either side of him to provide the attacking intent from midfield.

Up front, Werner would lead the line with Ziyech and Christian Pulisic cutting inside from the wings.

At the other side of the pitch, Oblak would be protected by a defensive partnership of Rice and Antonio Rudiger, with Cesar Azpilicueta and Chilwell providing support on the flanks.

And Chelsea would still have plenty of options to call upon from the bench.

Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud would both provide excellent cover up front, with Callum Hudson-Odoi and fellow academy graduate Faustino Anjorin ready to deputise out wide.

Billy Gilmour, Mateo Kovacic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek would make competition for places in midfield extremely intense.

Meanwhile, Willy Caballero would provide ample support as the second-choice goalie after penning a new deal.

Reece James and Ian Maatsen are two great prospects for the full-back positions, with Fikayo Tomori and Ethan Ampadu ready for more action as centre-halves.
