Dominic Calvert-Lewin shows off ‘school uniform’ look as England and Everton star poses for daring Homme+ magazine cover

CLOTHES-MAD Dominic Calvert-Lewin has sauntered from the back pages of the papers to the cover of a hit fashion mag to show off his latest daring look.

The England and Everton hitman, 24, loves scoring goals on the pitch – and wearing stylish clobber off it.

The Everton striker has never been bothered about what people think of his outfit choices

And no look is too daring for the confident frontman – even if it means a bit of ribbing on social media.

In snaps for Homme Plus, Calvert-Lewin poses in a Prada outfit comprising of a white polka-dot shirt, blazer, black tie and flared shorts – which some less stylish observers dismissed as a ‘skirt’.

The look was put together by stylist Harry Lambert.

And it’s no surprise that Twitter went mad for it.

While some followers clearly won’t be rushing out to copy the look, others were at least impressed by DCL’s efforts to pull it off.

One wrote: “While it’s not an outfit I would wear, fair play to him doing what he wants to do. Whoever made the rules to say men can’t wear a skirt?! Or pink etc etc.”

Another backed the ballsy ace for the photoshoot but teased: “Good on him for doing his thing and being proud but he does look like a school girl here.”

Another joked ‘Wonder if Roy Keane would ever dress like this’, while one simply wrote: “Ladies and gentleman I present to you, the modern footballer.”

Calvert-Lewin has told before how he loves escaping the humdrum of a footballer’s life by wearing unconventional outfits.

He told style magazine The Face: “As a footballer you’re so in a routine, and you do the same things every day.

“It’s that bit of freedom. If you want to wear a suit for no reason, why not?”

And he’s certainly made The Sun’s Bizarre editor Simon Boyle – who is also an Everton supporter – an even bigger fan of his now after his latest showing.

Our showbiz supremo wrote: “Watch out Harry Styles – you’ve got some serious  competition in the daring  fashionista stakes.

“Dominic seemed to echo  Harry’s Gucci dresses – and David Beckham’s sarong – by wearing one of the boldest ensembles I’ve seen while posing for the cover of Arena Homme + magazine.

“Dressed head to toe in Prada, he channelled a preppy schoolgirl in culottes, blazer, hi-gloss shoes, white socks, tie and shimmering pink handbag.

“While I doubt he’ll wear it to training, I’ll admit he carries it off. Dominic is a forward-thinking player – I  hope he inspires more stars to push boundaries in the beautiful game.

“And as an Everton fan, I don’t care what he wears as long as he gets us back to winning ways.”

A passion for fashion is nothing new for the Three Lions star, with Calvert-Lewin having previously revealed what he spent his first pay packet from Sheffield United on at 16.

He explained: “I gave my mum a portion of the money and went and spent the rest on this coat.

“I left myself with probably £20 for the rest of the month.”

On some of the comments he has received about what he likes to wear, DCL added: “Now the tables have turned and they go, ‘Actually, looks alright that, only you could pull that off.

“It’s like a backhanded compliment.”

Calvert-Lewin attended New York fashion week alongside team-mate Tom Davies back in 2019.

And he isn’t the first footballer to be snapped for Homme Plus.

Spurs star Son Heung-min posed in Prada while holding a cockerel for a previous issue.

While former heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua has also featured on their cover as has, perhaps not surprisingly, a topless David Beckham.
