Emerson says old Chelsea teammate is best player he’s ever played with

Former Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri has claimed in a Twitter Q&A that Eden Hazard is the best player he has ever played with.

The pair spent several seasons together at Stamford Bridge.

This time was undoubtedly the high point of Hazard’s career as he performed at a level rarely seen before or since in the Premier League.

His final season at the club saw him put the team on his back under Maurizio Sarri.

His brilliance led the Blues to a third-placed, in-form Europa League triumph for the second time in his career.

This obviously left a lasting impression on Emerson, who has named the Belgian as the best footballer he has ever played with.

Emerson praises Hazard

He said: “It has to be Eden Hazard. The things he was doing in training and on the pitch were just a joke.”

Emerson remains in the Premier League and enjoys many more starts in England with West Ham United.

For his part, Hazard is still in the lull of his career which has been his stage at Real Madrid. The brilliance that Chelsea fans saw so regularly seems to have completely disappeared in Spain.

Former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has hardly featured him from the start in recent seasons, instead preferring the young talent of Vinicius Jr.

That faith has certainly been fairly restored, with the Brazilian scoring the winning goal in last season’s Champions League final.

Rumors refuse to die down every transfer window that the Belgian will eventually return to Stamford Bridge, but time seems to have passed what could have been a sensational spell at the club where he made his name.
