Paul Robinson has tipped Everton to sign Abdoulaye Doucoure after the club offered the Watford player a lucrative deal to join this summer.
The former Spurs and Leeds United goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, claimed that there will be stiff competition for the Watford midfielder’s signature this summer.
As revealed by Football Insider last week, the Toffees have tabled the 27-year-old a £120,000-a-week contract in a bid to prise him away from Vicarage Road.
Such a deal would elevate the French midfielder into the top bracket of earners at Goodison Park with Bernard and Yerry Mina already on £120,000-a-week, according to Spotrac.
Doucoure‘s 39 appearances for the Hornets last season yielded four goals and two assists but it was not enough to save them from relegation.
When asked by Football Insider if Watford’s midfield enforcer would prove to be a smart signing by Toffees boss Carlo Ancelotti, Robinson said: “I really like Abdoulaye Doucoure.
