Friday’s Premier League transfer news

West Ham’s London stadium has been included in the joint UK-Ireland bid to host Euro 2028. A statement from the FA has revealed that the preliminary bid file includes 14 stadiums.

The London Stadium is one of nine English grounds included, along with Villa Park, Everton Stadium, Etihad Stadium, St James’ Park, Stadium of Light and Old Trafford. Then there are five other stadiums in the UK and the Republic of Ireland: Aviva Stadium and Croke Park (Dublin), Casement Park (Belfast), Hampden Park (Glasgow) and the Principality Stadium (Cardiff).

The home of the Irons has been home to the Premier League since 2016, although it has also hosted the 2012 London Olympics, the 2017 World Rugby Athletics League and more. The FA will have to reduce the list to 10 stadiums in April, although London Stadium is likely to make the cut.
