Alex Bruce insists that Fulham have beaten a host of clubs as they close in on the capture of Antonee Robinson from Wigan Athletic.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, the former Latics star claims the London life will have been a key factor in his former teammate snubbing interest from the likes of Everton and Sheffield United.
As revealed by Football Insider on Monday, the 23-year-old is putting the finishing touches on his move to London following Wigan’s relegation from the Championship.
The defender was a standout performer at the DW Stadium last season and saw a £10million move to AC Milan collapse in January as a result of heart problems detected in his medical.
With a move to Fulham almost complete, Bruce insists that Scott Parker’s side have pulled off something of a coup.
Bruce told Football Insider: “I played with Robbo at Wigan, an absolute flying machine, a really good athlete so whoever signs him, it will be a good bit of business.
