ARSENAL fans were left baffled after Mikel Arteta brought on Sead Kolasinac in the dying embers of Sunday’s FA Cup defeat at Nottingham Forest.
The Gunners were trailing 1-0 in a game where only Bernd Leno impressed against the Championship side.
Arsenal fans were left baffled after Mikel Arteta introduced Sead Kolasinac while 1-0 down with just two minutes to play of their FA Cup loss at Nottingham Forest
Kolasinac has been all-but forgotten by most Arsenal fans having been largely frozen out by Arteta and is expected to be sold this month or released on a free in the summer
And with Lacazette, Eddie Nketiah, Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard all on the pitch, the Emirates boss had no more senior attacking stars to introduce.
Rather than plump for an untested youth star such as Mika Biereth, Arteta brought on a forgotten man – left-back Kolasinac.
After the Bosnian’s introduction, one baffled fan tweeted: “Kolasinac??? He’s still an Arsenal player???”
Another wrote: “Down 1-0, 2 minutes to go and you bring on Kolasinac…”
A third ranted: “Why is Kolasinac still playing?? I don’t understand why he’s even training with the first team anymore.”

One suggested: “Kolasinac coming on was basically a plea for more players.”
Another agreed, tweeting: “The Kolasinac sub alone felt a lot like a ‘give me more players’ sort of move.”
But Kolasinac – who spent part of last season on loan at Schalke – might not be at the Emirates for much longer.
The Ligue 1 giants sit third in the table after 19 games played and could be playing Champions League football next season – a promising proposition for the left-back.
It’s certainly a more attractive proposition than Watford, who are already staring relegation to the Championship in the face.
According to The Telegraph, Hornets manager Claudio Ranieri is in the market for a new defender as he battles to keep his side from the drop.
And the Bosnian is one of the names on the shortlist to help shore up his leaky defence, especially with Danny Rose having left the club.
Kolasinac was one of seven flops Arsenal desperately wanted to get rid of last summer – but clubs were put off by his £100,000-a-week wages.
