NEWCASTLE could bring in as many as six players this month with Eddie Howe set to splash the cash in his bid to beat the drop.
The Toon have money to spend following their Saudi-backed £300million takeover in October and could be Europe’s highest spenders in January.
Club director Amanda Staveley has promised that the Toon will bring in ‘world class’ players in future transfer windows.
She remarked: “We are in the market to compete for world class players.
“We have great ambitions — I hope it’s going to be a game changer for Newcastle United.
“But if you don’t put the infrastructure around that world class player and you don’t have a team that can play with him, you’ll get nowhere.”
Newcastle are expected to strengthen in defence, midfield and attack with the club boasting the second worst goal difference in the Premier League this term.

Slovakian shot-stopper Martin Dubravka will retain his place between the sticks with the goalkeeper one of Newcastle’s most reliable players.
Atletico Madrid right-back Kieran Trippier is understood to be close to joining the club with Diego Simeone confirming the player has an offer from Newcastle.
A new left-back isn’t believed to be a priority with England youth international Jamal Lewis only joining from Norwich in September 2020.
Two centre-backs could be brought in however, with Lille star Sven Botman a key priority for Howe, though the French outfit recently rejected a £30m bid by Newcastle.
Partnering him if the North East outfit improve their offer could be Tottenham’s Joe Rodon, with the Welshman available for loan.
Jonjo Shelvey will likely keep his place in central midfield alongside Joelinton, with the Brazilian forward impressing in a deeper role in the last three games.
And Juventus’ Aaron Ramsey could join them in the middle of the pitch as the Old Lady look to get him off their wage bill.
Newcastle are understood to be the frontrunners in the race to secure his services, with his agent working towards a January deal.
Ramsey’s former Arsenal team-mate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could slot in on the left wing with the Gabon international out of favour under Mikel Arteta.
It has been claimed how Newcastle have contacted the Gunners over the possibility to bring him in on a loan deal with the option to buy for £20m.
Fan favourite Allan Saint-Maximin could then feature on the opposite flank, with Benfica centre-forward Darwin Nunez to possibly lead the line.
Newcastle are said to have been quoted more than £50m for the 22-year-old star, who has scored 18 goals in 22 games this term.
