Believe it or not, Newcastle come out of the break as one of two clubs with just one defeat on their record so far. Led by their star striker Miguel Almiron, the Magpies have found themselves in the top four of the table with Arsenal and Manchester City. They are currently third on 30 points, seven behind the league leaders Gunners, but just four points ahead of fifth-placed Manchester United. Newcastle went into the break on a five-game winning streak and have not lost since falling to Liverpool on August 31.
Although they are not at the opposite end of the table, Leicester are nowhere close to having the same kind of success as their opponents on Monday. The Foxes are 13th in the EPL with just 17 points, trying to stay out of relegation talk. They are four points ahead of Nottingham Forest, who are in the bottom three of the league. Leicester played better down the stretch after going winless in their first seven games. Before their last game in November, the Foxes had won four of their last five contests.
Newcastle and Leicester have each split their last two series of the season, although the Foxes have won five of their last seven meetings.
