England teen Jude Bellingham looks set to sign a new contract with Borussia Dortmund after an impressive first season in the Bundesliga.
The starlet opted for the German club over Manchester United last summer when he left Birmingham City in a £30million deal.
Though he was still only 17, he slotted straight into Dortmund’s first team and made 46 appearances in all competitions, helping them win the DFB-Pokal.
Bellingham was also shown great trust by his manager on the top stage, playing and excelling in their huge Champions League ties last season.
And The Sun report the midfielder will be rewarded with a two-year contract extension – keeping him at the club until 2025 and putting to bed any speculation over a possible move to the Premier League.
Reports had linked Chelsea with a move for the teenager, but the extension makes a move unlikely.
Bellingham will also turn 18 on Tuesday as England prepare to face Germany in their last-16 Euro 2020 match.
The teenager has already won six caps for his country and impressed every time he has played.
Dortmund teammate Sancho had high praise for the midfielder on the eve of the Euro 2020 clash.
He said: “The kid is mature. I think everyone can notice that, but he deserves it.
“He’s been working extremely hard at Dortmund, especially his first training session — you could tell already that he was ready to ball out in Germany.
“The sky’s the limit for Jude. Being at a major tournament for England is a very big thing and, as you can see, he’s doing his role for the team.
“He deserves it. If he keeps on doing well then he can reach the top.”
