Leeds United news: Mills makes Wolves score prediction

Danny Mills has tipped Leeds United to earn a 2-2 draw with Wolves on Monday night.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, the former Leeds United and England full-back said he cannot see either side keeping a clean sheet and expects a “magnificent game”.

Marcelo Bielsa may be forced to line up with Pascal Struijk and Robin Koch at the heart of his defence after Liam Cooper and Diego Llorente suffered injuries while on international duty.

The pair both picked up groin injuries and Llorente is set to miss three weeks of action while Bielsa confirmed on Friday that Cooper is a doubt for the visit of Wolves.

Struijk and Koch started Leeds’ 4-3 defeat to champions Liverpool on the opening day, their only league defeat of the season.

And Mills said he cannot see them keeping a clean sheet against Wolves.

“I have Leeds down for a 2-2 draw,” Mills told Football Insider.

“Do I have confidence in both defensives keeping clean sheets? Probably not after the international break and everything else that’s going on. I maybe don’t see that happening.

“Both teams play similar sort of styles, it’s great football, high energy, it’s a good tempo. They get the ball through the thirds with exciting attacking players.

“I think it’s going to be a magnificent game. I think it’s a really tight one to call but if I had to put my neck on the line I’d go for a score draw.”

Leeds United have not played Wolves while Bielsa has been in charge.

The last time the two sides met was in the Championship in March 2018 when Wolves won 3-0 on their way to the league title.

In other news, a never-before-seen Leeds United player is set to feature against Wolves and Noel Whelan has lauded him as a “great option”.
