
Danny Mills has argued that Leeds United will not be “held to ransom” in their ongoing pursuit of Ben White as he suggested he could end up costing £47million including transfer fee and wages.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Elland Road defender claimed that his old club will walk away from any deal for the Brighton centre-back if it starts to become too expensive.
The Whites have had a flurry of offers rejected for their top defender target after his outstanding season on loan at Elland Road.
Football Insider then revealed earlier in the week that Leeds had approached the Seagulls with an improved offer of around £30 million, but that too was knocked back by Graham Potter’s side.
And Mills has suggested that the Whites will be wary of paying over the odds for the player.
Speaking to Football Insider about Leeds’ improved bid for White, he said: “That’s the problem.
