
Noel Whelan has claimed “£14million is a fair price” for Leeds United to pay Rangers to seal the signing of Ryan Kent.
The former United and Aberdeen striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, heaped praise on the 23-year-old attacker and is unsurprised by Marcelo Bielsa’s strong interest.
Kent, who has scored three goals in five appearances this season, has three years left on his contract at Ibrox after he penned a four-year deal upon his arrival from Anfield last summer.
Football Insider revealed yesterday that Leeds are preparing to make a second offer for the winger after their initial bid of £8.5million plus add-ons was rejected.
The Gers signed the Englishman from Liverpool for a fee in the region of £6.5million 12 months ago after a successful loan spell at the club.
When asked by Football Insider if he wanted to see the Whites return to the Scottish club with an improved offer, Whelan said: “Kent is a fantastic player.
