Marcelo Bielsa is set to sign a new Leeds United contract next week to end any uncertainty over his future, Football Insider understands.
The Argentine’s previous deal expired at the end of the title-winning Championship campaign that took the club back to the Premier League after 16 years.
A Leeds source has told Football Insider the board have been in discussions with Bielsa over a lucrative new agreement since the season ended and there has now been a breakthrough.
All parties are confident the Argentine will now put pen to paper and there should be an announcement in the coming days.
The deal could run for an initial 12 months with a further one-year option included.
For Leeds fans and the club hierarchy, keeping hold of Bielsa is considered an even bigger priority than any player signing.

He is adored by the United faithful for transforming the fortunes of the team, as well as its playing style, during his two-year reign.
The 64-year-old arrived at Elland Road in the summer of 2018, when he signed a one-year deal that included an additional 12-month option.
Leeds triggered the one-year extension at the end of May of last year and that expired in June.
The extraordinary circumstances of the season, which saw the Championship campaign suspended by three months, meant Bielsa signing a short-term extension.
He oversaw a remarkable season in which Leeds cantered to automatic promotion and finished 10 points clear of second-placed West Brom.
