The lack of competition for his place at Leeds United is “hurting” Patrick Bamford and they may sign a new striker in January, according to Gabby Agonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley, the former England and Aston Villa forward insisted he is a big fan of Bamford and is convinced he will have a fine season for Leeds.
But Agbonlahor pointed out how the spearhead of Marcelo Bielsa’s side is similar to himself during his time at Villa under Martin O’Neill when he coasted a little due to the lack of competition for his place.
Bamford, 27, has started all nine of Leeds’ Premier League matches this season and completed the full 90 minutes in the last seven.
He has scored seven goals and supplied two assists, and was part of the side that dominated against Arsenal in last night’s 0-0 draw in which they had 24 goal attempts and hit the woodwork three times.
