Liverpool attacker Wilson undergoing Cardiff City medical – EXCLUSIVE

Liverpool attacking midfielder Harry Wilson has arrived at Cardiff City to undergo a medical, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

This site reported last night that the Premier League giants had agreed loan terms with the Championship club for the 23-year-old.

At that point, second-tier rivals Swansea City and Bristol City still had hopes of beating Cardiff to his signature ahead of Friday’s 5pm transfer deadline.

But Wilson has decided to join Cardiff ahead of his other suitors and is now putting the finishing touches to the deal.

It is expected to be completed ahead of the transfer cut-off for domestic transfers.

As revealed by this site, the Wales international has been at the heart of a transfer tussle in the Championship, with the likes of Derby County and Nottingham Forest having also tabled offers for him.

Cardiff’s offer has proved to be the most persuasive and it is set to be enough to seal his signature for the 2020-21 campaign.

Wilson was given the green light to leave Anfield this window and has been in high demand from Premier League and Championship sides.

However, a permanent move to Burnley fell through when Clarets boss Sean Dyche pulled the plug on a potential deal earlier in the summer.

The Premier League side had a bid of £12million for the winger rejected and they refused to meet Liverpool’s £15million valuation.

Wilson has an excellent record in the Championship after impressive spells on loan at Derby County two seasons ago and Hull City before that.

In other news, Liverpool have agreed the terms of a last-gasp central midfielder transfer.
