LIVERPOOL have joined Arsenal and Chelsea in the race to sign Aston Villa star Douglas Luiz, according to reports.
Jurgen Klopp is believed to be keen to sign a midfielder given the Reds’ injury issues in that area.

And Luiz’s future is up in the air with less than 12 months remaining on his contract.
Liverpool are eyeing the Brazilian as they want a midfielder with a physical presence, report the Daily Mail.
They could battle Arsenal and Chelsea for the 24-year-old, with Atletico Madrid also said to be interested.
And according to Sky Sports one of those clubs is preparing a £20million bid for Luiz.

Villa boss Steven Gerrard fuelled speculation the Brazilian could leave by stating he is not in control of the player’s future.
When asked about Luiz’s future, Gerrard said: “I am not in control of that. That will be Douglas, his agent and what happens around that.
“I would like to keep him. I think he is in a fantastic player. I have made that abundantly clear.
“We are not in a position where we need to lose our top players but at the same time Douglas has a year to go.

“It is one of those really touchy situations where the club has to do what is best for the club, not necessarily what is best for me.”
Jurgen Klopp also admitted he is on the lookout for a midfielder – but only if Liverpool can find the right target.
He said: “We are looking for it. If it is the right player, we need him. If it is not the right player, we don’t need him.”
