Liverpool will make a push to sign Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot in the January transfer window.
This is explained by Calciomercatoweb, who claim that the Reds hope to get ahead of the Frenchman’s group.
Rabiot can leave Juventus for free next summer. But given his quality, Liverpool are keen to get a deal done soon.
As a result, they are said to be planning to offer Kostas Tsimikas as compensation in a winter deal. This is claimed to be something that would interest Juve, given their need for a new left-back.
However, the Italians are also weighing up the option of extending Rabiot’s contract beyond the summer.

Rabiot stands in the window
Until Rabiot’s contract situation is resolved, you can expect to see this link pop up from time to time.
Liverpool need a midfielder, Rabiot probably needs a new club. You can see where it’s coming from.
But still, it looks like that will never happen. First, French is notoriously high maintenance. Manchester United found this out last summer when they couldn’t justify meeting their wage demands.
Second, he will soon be twenty-eight years old. While a free transfer may represent a decent bargain, Rabiot is the exact opposite of the type of signing Liverpool usually make.

That said, it has an important quality. The former PSG man proved that last night in full force for France. Rabiot got his header home beautifully, before putting a second on a plate for Olivier Giroud.
If he is trying to attract his next club, he is already doing a good job of putting himself in Qatar’s window.
It was the kind of performance that led to legendary goalkeeper Gigi Buffon labeling him “fantastic” via Sport Star.
But regardless, we don’t see that happening. And as for the issue of the Tsimikas? Big fat, no thanks from us, hands off Kostas!
