A MAN has been arrested after police were called to a suspected burglary at a town house.
Officers rushed to an address in Gosport Road, Fareham, in the early hours of yesterday morning.
This came after allegations of an assault.
Police arrived and arrested a person at the scene.
It was later claimed that an officer had been subjected to racist abuse.
A 45-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of common assault, criminal damage, possession of heroin and a racially aggravated public order offence.
At the moment he remains in custody.
