Chelsea have reportedly lost out to Manchester City in the race for Sheffield United young prodigy Kylan Midwood.
Fabrizio Romano broke the news on Twitter, with City managing to fend off several of their Premier League rivals.
Along with Chelsea, Pep Guardiola’s employers also seem to have beaten off Liverpool, Leeds United and Newcastle United in their pursuit of Midwood.
Midwood is currently playing football with Sheffield United’s under-15 team.
Not much information is available on the emerging talent, but it speaks volumes for his credentials that so many top-flight clubs have surrounded his signature.

Both were at one time apparently interested in Palmeiras gem Endrick, although the reigning Premier League champions have since disappeared.
Todd Boehly is still said to be chasing a deal for Endrick, having reportedly already tried to distress him and his family with a visit to Cobham.

The two blues are also in the conversation about Josko Gvardiol.

City finally struck the killer blow and acquired Haaland ahead of the current season.
