Rashford and Malacia Involved in Road Accident

Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford and teammate Tyrell Malacia were involved in a car accident after a suspected drink-driver collided with Rashford’s Range Rover. The England forward, who was following his vehicle in another car, witnessed the incident and accompanied his teammates to the hospital for checks.

Arrest and Hospital Checks

The crash, which took place in Wilmslow, Cheshire, led to the arrest of a 55-year-old Mercedes driver on suspicion of drink-driving. She underwent checks at Macclesfield Hospital. Fortunately, 24-year-old Dutch defender Malacia and the other passenger, whose identity remains undisclosed, were cleared by doctors following the incident.

Cheshire Police Confirm Details

Cheshire Police confirmed the collision, which occurred on July 16, involved a blue Range Rover Sport and a black Mercedes C220 AMG sport. They reported that a woman was detained at the scene and two men were taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

Rashford’s Driving Ban and Team’s Response

The accident came just days before Rashford received a six-month driving ban for speeding at 104mph in his Rolls-Royce on the M60 in December 2023. Despite the incident and subsequent ban, Rashford joined the United squad for a pre-season tour in Los Angeles, while Malacia remained in Manchester to continue his fitness regime after missing last season due to injury.

Quick Recovery and Back to Training

Both Manchester United players made a swift return to training the following day, signaling no serious injuries from the accident and demonstrating their commitment to the team ahead of the new season.
