Mauricio Pochettino’s former club plan to raid Chelsea for a £40m man
Mauricio Pochettino is close to a major decision regarding Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos.
The Blues’ midfield department needs additions, and fast! Well, there may actually be players ready and waiting on the CFC roster or youth teams. A star in waiting or ready for promotion could be Andrey Santos. That’s the apparent view of manager Mauricio Pochettino, anyway.
Santos, along with Cesare Casadei and Ian Maatsen, were outstanding against Wrexham in a friendly on Thursday. The former impressed Pochettino in the 5-0 thrashing. The Brazilian wants senior game time and is considered fit by many at Stamford Bridge. Santos could have a first-team role next season.

While Lukaku is not wanted at Fulham Road and is going down as a double Premier League failure, remember his generally awful performances at Manchester United in a pretty terrible spell? – The simultaneous desire of the Belgian international to leave Chelsea is fulfilled. It just didn’t work at the Bridge for the centre-forward, just like it did at Old Trafford. The Pride of London come to this view following Pochettino’s decision not to have the 30-year-old in his squad for the upcoming campaign.
The hell that was the marriage between Lukaku and the Blues has basically ended in divorce. Poch recently revealed that the footballer was not selected for CFC’s pre-season tour of the United States. In addition to this statement, the gaffer claimed that the Antwerp-born man had a “desire” to leave the club in the English capital.
Of course, Pochettino has been mulling over many similar courses of action for the athletes over the past three weeks or so. The mammoth task at Chelsea continues. The boss described Lukaku’s situation as “interesting”; Blues officials and the player’s representatives are working together to find a “solution”.
