The Newcastle United team is having some downtime.
An excellent win at St James’ Park against Chelsea, the perfect way to conclude what has been a run of amazing form and results leading up to this huge World Cup gap without proper football.
Since the international break in September 2022, the Newcastle United squad has played nine games, won eight and drawn one, scored twenty-one goals and conceded just four.
In the process, accumulating 22 points out of a possible 24 and progressing to the fourth round of the League Cup.
Before that, of course, the World Cup in Qatar split the season.
Kieran Trippier, Bruno G, Fabian Schar, Nick Pope and Callum Wilson in the tournament, while the rest of the Newcastle United squad follow a slightly different path…
Newcastle United’s non-World Cup squad are currently in a fortnight away from formal training.
The first week was on holiday, now his time away from the training camp is partly rest and relaxation, but also working on personalized training programs. A lot of work is being done to improve the training ground, so the absence of the players allows that work to continue at a faster pace at the moment.
However, for the Newcastle United squad, they will soon be regrouping and then flying out in eight days time as preparations turn serious, ahead of the return of competitive action in 25 days time…
