Paddy Pimblett: UFC star challenges AEW’s MJF to MMA fight

UFC fighter Paddy Pimblett had a huge blowout on social media with AEW World Champion Michael Jacob Friedman on Tuesday.

Future plans may have just been decided for Merseyside fighter Paddy ‘The Bady’ Pimblett after UFC 282. It comes after the Huyton-born star became embroiled in a social media spat with the fighter in favor of AEW Michael Jacob Friedman (MJF) on Tuesday (November 22).

After winning the AEW World Championship at the Full Gear pay-per-view over the weekend, MJF decided to lock horns with the undefeated cage fighter. The clash took place via social media platforms Twitter and Instagram, when the 26-year-old Merseysider challenged the fighter to an MMA fight.

After the pair had a falling out, Paddy Pimblett posted: “If you want to have a real fight let’s sort it out with the UFC, if not take it down! Tell your boss Tony Khan to sign me up when you come on the Fulham pitch, I’m ready son!”

Responding to the challenge, MJF said: “Hey mate, @aew has a show in your neck of the woods. If you’re man enough I’ll gladly show you how real I am” before tagging the UFC bosses and AEW, Dana White and Tony Khan, respectively.

Professional wrestling promotion All Elite Wrestling (AEW) recently announced that it will host its first show in the UK since the company was formed in 2019. It will reportedly take place sometime in 2023 and expect it to be held at home in Fulham. Craven Cottage, the Premier League football club of which AEW chairman Tony Khan is vice-chairman.

The back and forth between MJF and Pimblett continued. White and see what we can order because I know full well you’re not going to pass a USADA drug test to fight in the UFC.”

The New York native responded one last time, writing: “Unlike you, I’m 100% natural and I’m also 100% original. unlike you You’re the dollar store Conor McGregor talking, Will from Strangers Things looks like he wouldn’t last two seconds in my world #Betterthanyou See you in London.
