Piers Morgan trolls Liverpool with ‘champions’ joke after Arsenal beat Jurgen Klopp’s side at empty Emirates

PIERS MORGAN could not resist trolling Liverpool after their disastrous defeat to Arsenal.

The Premier League champions threw away the lead before the Gunners bounced back to win 2-1.

Piers Morgan was delighted to see the Gunners sink Jurgen Klopp’s side

The defeat ended Liverpool’s hopes of setting a new Premier League points record.

And Good Morning Britain presenter Morgan was quick to taunt them on Twitter.

He shared a photograph of Arsenal’s squad celebrating as Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk looked on in disbelief.

Alongside it, he wrote: “Thanks for coming, Champs @LFC.”

Arsenal looked destined for defeat after Sadio Mane gave the visitors the lead after 20 minutes.

But some dodgy Liverpool defending allowed Alexandre Lacazette to snatch the equaliser.

And just moments before half time, Reiss Nelson gave the Gunners the lead.

Jurgen Klopp’s side suffered their third defeat of the season

Arsenal fan Morgan most recently caused a stir when he reignited his war of words with Aaron Ramsey.

He slated the midfielder’s “ego” as he claimed his move to Juventus “would not have impressed” Cristiano Ronaldo.

And he left colleague Susanna Reid cringing in horror as he said he’d “take one for the team” by having sex with an Arsenal player.
