Caicedo, who plays in the English Premier League with Brighton and Hove Albion, was part of Ecuador’s squad at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Ecuador failed to qualify for the last 16 of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in a group that featured host nation Qatar, Senegal and the Netherlands.
The South Americans only suffered one defeat in the competition against Senegal in which Caicedo scored the only goal in a 2-1 defeat against the African champions.

Meanwhile, Moises Caicedo has warned those in his town, Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas – about 5,000 inhabitants – who want to emulate him that they will have difficult times along the way.
