Darren Bent claims that Alfredo Morelos is a “hindrance” and a “menace” to Rangers after Steven Gerrard admitted the striker is not fully focused.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, the former Tottenham and England hitman admits the 24-year-old is a “fantastic” talent but that he can be complacent when distracted.
Speaking after Thursday’s defeat to Bayer Leverkusen, Gerrard admitted to BT Sport that “everyone knows” that Morelos has had his head turned over a transfer this summer.

As previously revealed by Football Insider, Rangers are in advanced talks with Lille over a £17million deal for the Colombia international.
Bent insists that Gerrard’s comments are a real concern for the Gers and that it was important they signed Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten to cover for his prospective exit.
Bent told Football Insider: “I heard the interview from Gerrard where he said he believes Morelos’ head has been turned. Now, we know what kind of character Morelos is, on his day he’s fantastic.

“He can win a game on his own but if his head’s not 80 per cent right, his head’s 20 per cent missing, then he can be a real menace, if he’s not totally focused you don’t know what you’re going to get from him and he can be a bit of a hindrance.
“It was quite important that they did the deals and if they let him go now, at least they’ve got the two new ones in and they’ve got Defoe as well. They’ve got enough firepower to replace him.”
Morelos started against both Aberdeen and Bayer Leverkusen and set up Ryan Kent for his winner against the Dons.
However, he has scored just once for Rangers in 2020.
In other Rangers news, Alan Hutton has tipped a 25-year-old to leave Ibrox for next season.
