Alan Hutton has ripped into Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos after the win over Aberdeen on Saturday.
The former Gers defender and boyhood fan of the club, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, was left fretting over the Colombian’s conditioning during the 1-0 win at Pittodrie.
Morelos started and played the full 90 minutes against the Dons and set up Ryan Kent for the only goal of the game.
However, Hutton believes the 24-year-old may be distracted by all the speculation surrounding his future and that he needs to “knuckle down” at Ibrox.
Hutton told Football Insider: “He didn’t look himself to me if I’m honest. I’ve always said it does take you a couple of games to get into it, it was a very short pre-season.
“He still looks a little bit heavy for me, he looks big, so look, he’s going to have to work hard. Look, I listened to Steven Gerrard after the game and he must be sick to his back teeth with what he hears about him.

“I totally understand but the thing is it’s not going to go away, the rumours are always going to circulate but I think at the moment he really needs to knuckle down and get his head on that he’s a Rangers player at the moment.”
Morelos scored 29 goals in 46 appearances last season, including six strikes in the Europa League.
However, only one of those goals came after the winter break in Scotland.
In other Rangers news, it can be revealed that the Gers have agreed a transfer deal totalling £10million.
