According to Goal Brasil, Tottenham Hotspur have inquired about the availability of Fiorentina striker Arthur Cabral, who the north London club have reportedly identified as a replacement for Harry Kane.
Cabral had an impressive 2022-23 campaign for Fiorentina, finding the back of the net 17 times in all competitions, and the forward’s displays now appear to have alerted Tottenham.
The report claims Spurs are now ‘assessing’ a move for the Brazilian amid fears they could lose Harry Kane to Bayern Munich.
The publication claim that the Viola have told the Lilywhites that a €40m (£34.6m) bid would be needed to prize the centre-forward away from the Artemio Franchi Stadium.
The Premier League club are also understood to have contacted Cabral’s agent, Paulo Pitombeira, to explore whether the player would be open to a switch to N17.
Arthur Cabral is a target for Spurs if Kane leaves
However, Goal Brasil explain that Spurs would only make a move for the 25-year-old if Kane leaves and that the Fiorentina star is not the only option the English side are considering as a possible replacement for their star man.
The outlet also add that Spurs face competition for Cabral from Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal, who are believed to have “inquired” about the player’s situation but are yet to submit a formal offer for him.
Spurs Web Opinion
The fact that Tottenham have been linked with an increasing number of centre-forwards over the past week or two suggests that the club have begun to explore a number of options to replace Kane.
Perhaps this is another sign that the England captain is nearing an exit.
