Swansea and Oxford United are reportedly gearing up to make formal bids for TSV Hartberg’s talented winger, Ruben Providence. The 23-year-old has caught the eye of both clubs after demonstrating his skills during trial periods, sparking a battle to secure his signature on a permanent deal.
Providence’s Pre-Season Impact
Providence has had the opportunity to showcase his abilities with both teams in recent weeks. He joined Oxford for a trial last week and made a notable appearance in their pre-season victory over Premier League side Southampton. The winger also took to the field for Swansea in their friendly against Portuguese team Rio Ave, giving both clubs ample opportunity to evaluate his performance.
From Paris to Hartberg
The young winger’s journey began in the prestigious youth ranks of Paris St Germain before he made the move to Italian side Roma in 2019. Providence continued his development with a switch to Austrian club TSV Hartberg last summer, where he has since been honing his craft and gaining valuable experience in the Austrian Bundesliga.
Providence’s Track Record
Throughout his time in Austria, Providence has amassed a total of 48 league appearances, contributing eight goals and six assists. His performance last season was solid, with 32 appearances across all competitions, scoring twice and setting up three goals.
