It’s no secret that Real Madrid are desperate to make Kylian Mbappe their next Galactico.
Eden Hazard, thanks to a string of injury setbacks, has just not cut it at the Bernabeu following his multi-million pound move from Chelsea in 2019, and Florentino Perez is desperate to make Mbappe his next superstar signing in the Spanish capital.
Perez will also know, however, that the Paris Saint-Germain ace will not come cheap as the LaLiga giants launch ‘Operation Mbappe’ to get the transfer over the line.
Mbappe, who has scored a remarkable 104 goals in just 144 appearances for the French champions, is arguably football’s hottest property.
Having won everything in France and with a World Cup title to his name at just 22 years old, the prolific forward will surely cost more than the £198million PSG paid for his teammate Neymar in 2018.
So how could Real lure him to the Bernabeu?
Reports suggest Perez has listed SIX players for sale as he looks to raise the funds to sign Mbappe, with Liverpool also known admirers of the youngster and eyeing a potential swoop should he become available.
But who are the six players on the chopping block at Real? You can find out, below…
The playmaker has fallen out of favour at the Bernabeu, having appeared mainly off the bench in his 11 LaLiga appearances this term.
Arsenal and Everton have expressed interest in the Spaniard, who has made more than 300 appearances for Real in seven years at the club.
Lazio, Inter and Juventus are also said to be monitoring the former Malaga ace, who will be placed on the transfer list this summer.
The Spaniard has started just nine of Arsenal’s 17 Premier League matches this season, as he spends his second consecutive campaign on loan in north London.
Reports in Italy claim Real Madrid chiefs are frustrated by Ceballos’ lack of playing time and could recall him as they attempt to offload the midfielder to interested suitors in the summer.
The report adds that Serie A giants Inter, Juventus and Milan are interested in signing the 24-year-old.
Tottenham’s deal to bring Bale back on loan from Real Madrid last summer was met with huge excitement and expectation, with claims he would form a devastating attack alongside Harry Kane and Heung-min Son.
But that dream has not come true for Spurs fans, with the Welsh forward managing just three goals in 12 appearances so far this term.
Daniel Levy was said to be keen on signing Bale permanently when he arrived, but his poor form may have given the Spurs chief second thoughts – especially given the winger’s huge salary.
Therefore, Real could have a struggle getting Bale off their books this summer, with his contract set to expire in 2022.
The Serbia international joined Real last year but has struggled for minutes in the Spanish capital, scoring twice in just 22 LaLiga appearances.
He is on the verge of returning to his former club Eintracht Frankfurt on loan as Los Blancos look to generate interest in the striker with a view to selling him this summer.
If he rediscovers his best form, Jovic could move for a big fee which could help cover a fair chunk of the costs required to bring in Mbappe.
The veteran defender’s contract runs out in 2022 but he has found himself out of favour at the Bernabeu due to Ferland Mendy’s presence in Zidane’s first-choice XI.
Marcelo has been an incredible servant for the LaLiga giants, making more than 400 appearances and winning 22 trophies since his move from Fluminense in 2007.
There are doubts about whether the left-back can cut it at the highest level now he is 32, and a move back to Brazil could be a likely destination for the defender.
The former Manchester City starlet has spent the season on loan with Milan and it is believed San Siro chiefs are interested in making the deal permanent this summer.
The Spaniard has four goals and three assists in 21 appearances in all competitions so far this term, and the Serie A pace-setters are keen to keep him in Milan for good.
It is not yet known how much Real will demand for the winger, however.
