Michael Brown believes that Kemar Roofe is a “great signing” for Rangers following his move from Belgian side Anderlecht.
The former Premier League midfielder, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, declared he is “pleased” for both the player and Rangers following confirmation of the transfer.
Football Insider reported on Tuesday that the forward was undergoing an Ibrox medical and he was officially confirmed as a Rangers player hours later.
And Brown admitted he was “surprised” when he saw that the Ibrox club had managed to lure the 27-year-old to Glasgow.
“Kemar is a great signing for Rangers, he signed for Vincent Kompany at Anderlecht and now he’s come back,” Brown told Football Insider.
“He can score a goal, that’s for sure and that’s what Rangers have been looking for. I was surprised when I saw the signing and I was pleased for him and for Rangers.

“It’s great news for them he’s happy to go there but I didn’t think the move would come so quick for him, it has and it’s a great addition for Rangers.”
He found the net seven times in 16 games for Vincent Kompany’s side, despite an injury-plagued debut season in Belguim.
Roofe scored 28 goals in three years during his time at Leeds United before Anderlecht came calling for him last summer.
And the former Elland Road favourite could not hide his joy, following his move to Glasgow on a four-year deal.
“It’s amazing,” he told the club’s official website.
“Things happen so quickly so it’s difficult to get a perspective of what is really going on, but coming here to the training ground to see the environment and see all the staff, you realise this is serious and this is a big place.”
In other Rangers news, Alan Hutton has tipped a 25-year-old to leave Ibrox for next season.
