Tottenham are convinced Ryan Sessegnon is a potential world beater and a former Premier League striker agrees he is a “£50million player in the making”.
The 20-year-old has struggled to make an impact at Spurs since his £25million move from Fulham last August amid doubts whether he is best suited to playing left-back or in a more advanced attacking role.
Injuries and mixed form disrupted his debut campaign and he has been linked with a loan move in the upcoming season to Ajax.
A Spurs source has told Football Insider that Mourinho and his backroom staff are in no doubt about the potential and talent of Sessegnon.
They are convinced he will eventually come good and will benefit from a full pre-season under his belt.
Mourinho intends to use left-footed Sessegnon in principally attacking roles, on both the left as well well as the right.
