Tottenham have been tipped to blow many teams away with the swagger and intent of their attacking play this season.
That is according to ex-Leeds United and Coventry City striker Noel Whelan, speaking exclusively to Football Insider as he delivered his verdict on the transformation of Jose Mourinho’s team this term.
Spurs continued their impressive start with a comfortable 3-1 Europa League win at Ludogorets last night as a weakened team dominated a mismatch in Bulgaria.
The Londoners are also third in the Premier League after seven matches of the campaign, scoring a division-high 18 goals in the process.
Asked if Spurs can end their long trophy drought and even challenge for the league title, Whelan told Football Insider:
“With a manager like Jose Mourinho in charge, they can certainly win a trophy. Challenging for the title is more difficult, as Liverpool and Man City are the favourites, for me.
