Darren Bent has tipped Tottenham to make £10million-plus profit if they sell Serge Aurier this summer.
The former Spurs and England striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, suggests the lack of top-quality right-backs means that the Lilywhites could demand a hefty fee for the Ivorian.
The Mirror report that Spurs want to offload the 27-year-old this summer and value him at a fee of around £35million.
BBC Sport report that Aurier cost Tottenham £23million when he signed back in 2018 and he has another two years on his contract in north London.
Bent admits that the full-back has been erratic for Spurs but insists he has got the qualities to be a “very good” right-back in coming seasons.
Asked if Spurs could realistically get £35million for the right-back, Bent told Football Insider: “In today’s market they might do, it’s going to be difficult.

“We’ve spoken about Aurier and the problems he presents but it’s just one of them where someone will pay it because he is powerful, he is quick and on his day he can defend and is a very, very good player but at times is inconsistent.
“I think the price is high but if you look and what he’s got and what he brings – 27-years-old, Champions League experience, international experience, played at the highest level – for £35million, that’s not so bad.
“He has got the makeup of a very good right-back with his power and his pace and £35million is not that extortionate. You start looking at full-backs around the world, there’s not that many good ones, not like there once was.”
Aurier was a mainstay for Jose Mourinho last season as he made a total of 42 appearances across all competitions.
However, he has come under fire for his erratic performances and lack of defensive nous during his time in England.
