Transfer news LIVE! Arsenal want Caicedo; Chelsea FC make new £87m Fernandez bid; Tottenham in fresh Porro talks

The January transfer window is less than a week away and all three Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are expected to be busy. Despite leading the Premier League, the Gunners have already signed two players in the form of Leandro Trossard and Jakub Kiwior, but are now said to be interested in the midfielders.

Juventus star Weston McKennie has been linked but perhaps the biggest name is Brighton’s Moises Caicedo. The latter has already been the subject of a £55m bid from Chelsea, who are now believed to be pushing to re-sign Argentina star Enzo Fernandez amid reports of an £87m bid from Stamford Bridge.

At Tottenham, there are believed to be a new round of talks over the potential signing of top target Pedro Porro expected this week, as links with Nicolo Zaniolo continue. Follow all the latest news, gossip and rumors below!

Chelsea is working on the deal with Gust

Chelsea are working on a deal to sign 19-year-old Lyon full-back Malo Gusto.

The France Under-21 international has verbally agreed terms with the Blues and wants to move to Stamford Bridge this month.

Lyon want to keep Gusto until the end of the season, but Chelsea are pushing to sign him now and are ready to meet their £500m spending spree since last summer.

Gusto is an attacking right back, with similar athletic attributes to Reece James. He made his debut for Lyon as a 17-year-old in 2021 and has played 15 times in Ligue 1 this season.

Chelsea have made signing a new right-back to provide cover for James a priority.

Conversations in the palace of Ahamada

Crystal Palace are in talks to sign Stuttgart midfielder Naouirou Ahamada.

Palace have yet to make any signings this month, but Patrick Vieira is looking to strengthen his squad in the final week of the transfer window.

Midfield is a priority position and a deal for Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher looks unlikely. Ahamada is a 20-year-old midfielder who has impressed for Stuttgart in the Bundesliga this season.

Palace are also keen to sign a right-back and were among a number of clubs to speak to Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma, who appears set to join Everton.

Arsenal are ready to launch the candidacy of Caicedo

Arsenal could rival Chelsea for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo in the summer after the Blues failed to agree a deal for the 21-year-old.

Caicedo wanted a move to Stamford Bridge but was unwilling to force through a move from Brighton and Chelsea are increasingly resigned to missing out on the Ecuador international this month.

Arsenal are looking to sign a new midfielder for next season, with West Ham captain Declan Rice one of their top targets.

There is growing expectation that Rice will leave West Ham this summer and the 24-year-old is believed to be keen on a move to the Emirates Stadium to play with Mikel Arteta.

The 24-year-old American has also been linked with Arsenal and Aston Villa, although Leeds have followed up their interest with talks.

New West Ham signing Danny Ings faces a spell on the sidelines after picking up a knee injury on his debut against Everton on Saturday.

West Ham signed Ings for £12m last week to boost their goal threat and his injury will be a major frustration for David Moyes, who will be without the striker for at least a few weeks.

Igns has been ruled out of the FA Cup trip to Derby next Monday and is expected to miss the Premier League games against Newcastle on February 4 and Chelsea on February 11.
