Watch sweet moment Christian Eriksen is reunited with ex-Tottenham pals including Kane & Lloris before Brentford draw

CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN’S ex-Tottenham pals shared a tender reunion with the comeback hero… before he dented their top four hopes.

Keeper Hugo Lloris and England skipper Harry Kane both gave the Brentford midfielder meaningful embraces in the tunnel as he continued his astonishing return from a cardiac arrest.

Spurs keeper Hugo Lloris greeted Christian Eriksen with a hug and warm smile before the midfielder’s Brentford side earned a 0-0 draw

Tottenham striker Harry Kane also showed emotion as he embraced Christian Eriksen, who is back to his best ten months after a cardiac arrest

The Denmark hero went on to dictate Saturday’s 0-0 Premier League draw – showing why Manchester United and Spurs themselves are reportedly pondering a summer move for the 30-year-old.

But moments before that latest proof of his complete recovery, thoughts of on-pitch action took a brief backseat – just when it is usually all that players focus on.

Tottenham players hugged Eriksen as he prepared to walk out at the Community Stadium – two years after he departed the club and ten months since his dramatic collapsed at Euro 2020 against Finland.

Inter Milan had to terminate his contract as Italian football does not allow players to have an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator fitted.

And after he shone in training for Ajax, he has been outstanding in his short-term deal with Brentford.

Never more so than this weekend.

Eriksen’s sensational set-pieces so nearly led to a Brentford winner, notably when Ivan Toney headed a free-kick against a post late on.

But despite his menace to his old team, he also received a huge round of applause from Spurs fans when he prepared to take a corner.

And maybe those same supporters will be cheering him again at the end of the season for purely football reasons – if Antonio Conte does resign him.

But United’s incoming ex-Ajax chief Erik ten Hag and newly-rich Newcastle are also in contention – while Brentford are keen to retain him.
