
Tom Cleverley has agreed the terms of a new Watford contract, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
The 31-year-old finalised discussions yesterday with the Championship club over an extension to his current deal expiring in 2022.
A Watford source has told Football Insider that Cleverley’s new contract will run for three years until the summer of 2023.
It comes after this site broke the news a fortnight ago that Cleverley had opened talks on a new Hornets agreement.
The central midfielder has started four of Watford’s five Championship fixtures this season, captaining the side in them in the absence of Troy Deeney.
He is regarded by the club as a key player in their hopes of instant promotion back to the Premier League.
