West Ham news: Mills claims "clubs will come knocking" for Moyes target

Danny Mills has claimed that West Ham target Said Benrahma will consider his future even if Brentford gain promotion on Tuesday.

The former England international, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, suggested that the 24-year-old will be tempted by a move to an “established Premier League side” this summer.

Benrahma has been one of the Championship’s standout players this season and his 45 appearances have yielded 17 goals and 10 assists.

The Hammers are weighing up a move for the Algeria international or QPR’s Eberechi Eze as David Moyes eyes adding a playmaker to his squad.

Mills expects a host of clubs to enquire about Benrahma over the next two months even if Brentford beat Fulham in the Play-Off Final.

“Even if Brentford get promoted, clubs will come knocking and asking questions,” he told Football Insider.

“As a player he will be contemplating whether he would rather go to an established Premier League side. Staying could be a gamble, they might have a season like Sheffield United or it might be backs against the wall.

“If you are West Ham, you are still going to knock on the door and ask the questions, whether Brentford are promoted or not.”

Football Insider revealed on Monday that chairman David Sullivan marginally favours Benrahma due to the representation of his agent Will Salthouse.

Sullivan and Salthouse have done plenty of business together in recent years and many of the agent’s clients, the likes of Michail Antonio, Aaron Creswell, Ryan Fredericks and Darren Randolph, are already at the London Stadium.

In other West Ham news, Kevin Phillips has told Football Insider that Moyes could be a decisive factor in club beating Rangers to 21-year-old signing.
