West Ham appear to have not contacted the agent of former Manchester United and Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini.
According to ExWHUemployee, David Moyes has yet to inquire about the availability of the 35-year-old who currently plies his trade at Chinese club Shandong Taishan.
If Moyes prioritized a move for him, it would only be short-term.
Ex wrote: “The club have confirmed that there has been no contact at this time with the agent of former Moyes favorite Marouane Fellaini, despite reports elsewhere.
“The Belgian international currently plays in China and is now 35 years old. Moyes worked with him at Everton and then signed him at Manchester United. It has been said that if Moyes were to ask for the player (which he has yet to indicate or even indicate is a possibility), the club would only consider a short-term deal.
Good news
Moyes does not need Fellaini with him at a third Premier League club and is better off without him than with him.
The Belgian thrived for himself at Everton but then struggled at Manchester United before becoming a target man and then being sold.
There was always doubt as to what his best position was, and even though he was in his prime, signing him made little sense.
He may have won several awards for being the best Belgian player abroad, but he is not what the club needs right now.
The Hammers need a mobile attacking midfielder who can play in the pockets and create chances for the attacking players and bring the midfielders into the game.
Lucas Paqueta and Declan Rice should ideally play in a two-man midfield with someone like that up front.
Tomas Soucek has struggled in a Hammers shirt this season and West Ham’s decision-makers appear to be considering a sale sooner rather than later.
